The state is preparing to award just under $4 million in incentives to housing projects in the Des Moines metro, with up to 349 units planned. The Commons at Highland Park, backed by InvestDSM and Sonar Development, have been awarded housing tax credits to support the project in Highland Park. “These tax credits are a key part of the funding stack needed to create a viable project at this site,” said Christopher Civitate, Invest DSM Neighborhood Development Manager. The mixed-use building at 612 Euclid Ave could have upwards of 80 units. It will receive the maximum award of $1 million in tax credits through the workforce housing program.
